Life application Bible Study

We have all heard the phrase, “Practice what you preach.” Humanity in general despises everyone else’s hypocrisy except their own. The Bible, however, teaches us that Life Application of God’s word should not only be the Christian discipline, but also the Christian’s desire (1 Pet. 1-3, NKJV). Jesus said, “Why do you call me Lord, Lord and not do the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46). In quoting Isaiah, Jesus said to the Pharisees after calling them hypocrites, “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me” (Matt. 15:8). If we are going to be true followers of Jesus Christ, we must not only take heed and obey the things which He has said, but also killing hypocrisy wherever it may be by drawing near to Christ through His Word, and practice what we preach.

At CCN, when we talk about Life Application, we are talking about learning how to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ, both in our personal lives and in public. In our workplace, as well as in our homes. In our churches, and on our campuses. Unless you take every aspect of your life and surrender into Christ, how can we be faithful witnesses to the world? Finding out how to apply theology to everyday situations is what we desire for everyone to learn.

In Personal Discipleship, we emphasize the importance of daily devotions, understanding what it is to be a true disciple of Christ, as well as how to make other disciples and why daily Bible study is vital. Regarding Gifts, Talents, and Abilities, we go over what are the differences of each and help you discover which ones you may have so that you can apply them in your life and witness. Concerning Godly Fellowship, we study together what is real Christian fellowship, how to maintain unity within the body of Christ, and the importance of committing to a local church. Moreover, we deal with that Heart Issues which reveal how to deal with our emotions, our sin, and our identity in Christ. Finally, we exhort Perseverance in Ministry by providing biblical studies in balancing and prioritizing our Christian walk, studying faith and works together, perseverance in following Jesus, and learning how to deal with procrastination.

In essence, at CCN, our desire in Life Application is to reveal the everyday applicability of the Scriptures. Of course, we understand that unless someone is born again, they will not be able to appreciate the Bible (John 3:3; 1 Cor. 2:10-14). Nevertheless, I want to fulfill the Great Commission in making disciples and teaching them to observe everything Jesus taught (Matt. 28:18-20). Anyone who professes to be saved may claim to be a disciple of Christ, but only those who are truly born again – who love God, apply His Word, and persevere – will prove to be a genuine disciple (John 6:60-70).
