What is apologetics?

When Christians hear the word apologetics, the first thing that comes to mind is “apologize”, but it is quite the opposite. Apologetics is the branch of theology that is concerned with formal argumentation defending and explaining the truth of Christian doctrines

So why apologetics?  1 Peter 3:15 says “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect”. In Jude’s letter to believers, Jude urged the believers to “contend for the faith” Jude 1:3, because of false teachers who had arisen teaching false doctrines and perverting the grace of God for sensuality.

Today, the world is filled with many religious cults and atheism.  On the college campus.  Some professors use their classrooms as their pulpit, speaking out against God, His word and his followers. That’s where CCN comes in.

The Christian Collegian Network trains students to stand up for the faith with boldness and humility. They learn how to witness to their professors, their classmates who may be atheists, Muslims, Buddhists and more.

Through CCN, students become equipped to stand firm in their faith not only on their campus but where ever they may go throughout their lives.
