  • Religion Makes No Sense

    By Jenifer Pepling

I recently talked to a gentleman that said he did not believe in heaven or hell. I asked him why. He stated that he is a religious studies major and said that none of them made sense. I said "so justice doesn't make sense to you?" I explained the justice of God.

I shared the gospel and the gentleman said that he did not like the God of the Old Testament because he was homosexual. He said he was shot at in his home town and God made him this way so how could he say that was wrong. I explained that homosexuality is a sin and he told me that word did not exist. I said that even though that word did not exist at the time, you understand what the Bible means by "If a man lies with a male as with a woman." (Leviticus 20:13)

Sadly, he walked away saying we should agree to disagree. Please pray for him.

  • Planning and Preparing

Frank one of our new Campus Leaders was on campus this month connecting with students and sharing the gospel.

May is all about planning out the summer and fall outreaches and planning out the fall teaching schedule. However we are all about outreach. Here Cliff is sharing the gospel with a group at a CCN outreach. Cliff is great at apologetics and sharing the gospel.

Cliff is always willing to sit down and read a gospel tract to a person that cannot see the words that are on the tracts. The words on some of the tracts are a little small and he is then able to explain the gospel a little bit more fully.

Ryan did a wonderful job with Witness Radio this month. Here he is interviewing Roger Patterson to create a radio show on World Religions & Cults.

We love going out with others in the community to share the gospel. Jenifer and Mary went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game to share the gospel with as many people as would listen.

  • Many Firsts this Month

Josh is out on the SRU campus witnessing for the very first time.  He was given a copy of "God has a wonderful Plan" and it revolutionized everything for him.  Josh says that he wakes up thinking about telling others about Jesus and he goes to bed thinking about telling others about Jesus.  He was grateful to be given a push to be bold on the campus and share his faith.  Josh got a copy of that book at one of the large give a ways on Campus via CCN.

This is Matt CCN's first intern.  Here he is teaching a Bible study.  We train up the students to be able to do all the things that a campus leader can do.  We got a wonderful letter from his college thanking us for having Matt as an intern.  Matt had another first this month.  He open aired on the SRU campus this month.  Those that professed to be atheists clapped for him when he was finished.  They were impressed at how bold he was despite the opposition that was there before he started sharing his faith.

CCN has a radio show!  It is called Witness Radio and you can hear CCN Campus Leaders and students share their faith on this station.  You can listen to it here: Ryan Muniak is the creator of Witness Radio and he goes over great topics with the students and others.

Ryan has been asked if he would like to be on an AM station and a FM station.  He needs the money to be able to put the show on the air waves.  Please consider donating to this wonderful show.  He needs $350 a year to put it on FM station.

Tim and Lula at Missions Fair promoting Christian Collegian Network. We encouraged other Christians to step out of their comfort zone and share the gospel while supplying them with great biblical gospel tracts to use. Praying that some churches would allow us to do a free Evangelism Crash Course at their church. Lastly Tim took a few people through the good person test and shared the gospel with them.

Several of the CCN Campus Leaders went to the Ohio Fire conference this month.   We were able to tell others about CCN, encourage other believers to go and share their faith as well share our faith out on the streets.  Few could say that they love to open air as much as Jake Larson.

Faithfully Cliff and Andre share the gospel at MCCC an in the local town.

CCN loves to tell others about Jesus.  We love training up others to go out and share their faith.  Thank you so much for partnering with us in this important work of sharing the gospel.

  • Blessed Year of Ministry

This past semester has been such a blessing from God.

A husband of a CCN student said the following:  "I am so grateful for all that you have taught my wife.  She has taught me all the things you taught her."

One of the CCN students texted this:  "I learned a lot this semester I just hope I can remember most of it thanks!"

The last few weeks in the Campus Leaders meetings we have been going over the book Tactics. One of the Campus Leaders is teaching this in their fellowhip as well.  We learned that when others bring up hard topics or speak untruths we should ask questions.  The book "Tactics" taught us to first ask "What did you mean by that?"  This helps us make sure that we understand what the person is saying.  If they are asking a question that is really a statement it helps us flush that out as well.  When we ask these kinds of questions we make sure that we do not challenge something a person is not saying.   We do not want to make a strawman and disprove something a person do not even believe.   It makes people define their terms so we can be clear about what they are saying.

The second question we learned to ask is "How did you come to that conclusion"?  As Christians we often are called upon to defend our faith but we almost never make others defend what they believe.  Many of the stances that people stick to as to why they do not have a Biblical view they have not thought through.  People cannot defend their own faith and have not thought through why they do not believe Christianity.  They hear statements and just repeat them without thinking them through.  This questions gets us out of the hot seat and instead of us have to debunk whatever the other person says it makes them prove their world view.

After we understand what a person believes and how they have come to that conclusion, hopefully we have found the flaw in their view.  We take the flaw and we add knowledge of the correct view and we ask a question to show them the flaw using their own wording of their view.

This plan of attack is good since the person likes us since we are asking questions.  We are seen as interesting to talk to since we are interested in listening to them.  We are also in control of the conversation while not exposing what we believe until we have shown the flaw in other persons world view first.  This works very well in places like the classroom and at work where there can be a high price to pay for having a Biblical view.

Here is a picture of students sharing their faith at CCNY in NYC.  They are interviewing students and then giving them the good person test and then sharing the gospel with the students.

In Virginia the Students and Campus Leader got together over the Holidays to enjoy fellowship together.  They are all sporting their CCN shirts!

December is a month to finish up teaching on the campus.  We spent time talking to the students about what they would like to learn next semester.  We came up with a plan for next semester.  We spent time working on fliers to invite students to Bible Study next semester.  We planned all of the outreaches for the Spring semester.

CCN is very excited about this coming semester.  We will be finishing up Tactics and then we will be going over Creation Science.

God Bless you and thank you for your support!

  • November Praise Report

CCN exists to train up its students to go out and share the gospel.  This month one of the Pitt students shared the gospel with another Pitt student.   The new college student at Pitt joined us at Bible Study.  He was headed home for Thanksgiving later that day and could not wait to ask his Grandmother for a Bible.  Jen asked him if he wanted one and he did and so Jen gave him a Bible.  He was so excited about joining us for Bible Study that we are going to have Bible Study the week of finals.  Pray that he reads his Bible the entire way home to Philadelphia.

Jen finished teaching through John Frames book "Apologetics to the Glory of God."  We learned all about Presuppositional Apologetics.   The students now know how to show others that Christianity true because it resembles reality.  We learned about many different ways to show that the God of the Bible and specifically Chrisitan God is the only logical God.  The students discovered that you cannot have logic or morality outside of the Christian Worldview.  It was powerful to show the students that all other world views do not have legs to stand on.

The NYC Campuses ministered at an abortion clinic in their area.  Here is a picture of Diane pleading with those that are going inside.

The MCCC Campus went out proclaiming repentance and faith in Jesus Christ in Pottstown this month as they always do.  Here is Andre preaching the good news to people waiting at the local bus stop.

Tim at Tidewater Community College had many great conversations on his campus about the Gospel.

Some of Tim's students came out and shared the gospel several times this month.  They helped hand out Evolution vs God DVD's as well and hand out tracts on other days.  It is so exciting to see the students going out and sharing their faith.

We  handed out tracts at the Christmas Parade in downtown Pittsburgh.  We handed out Christmas Postcards at this parade.  The Christmas postcards were very easy to handout.  We handed out the same tract last year.  People were very excited to recieve the tract.

Each week we are able to speak to many students about the gospel on the campuses.    This month Jen had several second conversations with people.  A young man named Ben who is a Buddhist came up to talk with Jen a second time.  Jen had talked to him about a month ago and then this past week he walked right up to Jen so they could talk some more.  It was a great second conversation.  They talked about the fact that if it was natural for people to die then why was it so upsetting that they died.  Jen explained to him that we were wired to live forever and not meant to die.  We were made in God's image.  He really understood and said that resinated with him.  Pray for Ben.

Bible Study is going great in Cincinnati.  We are so excited to have Ryan teaching there.  He does www.witnesstalkradio.org during his outreaches.  It is great to be able to hear many of the conversations that he has witnessing with students.
