October Update

  • A Changed Life

Jen got a Call from a student at SRU.  She got to hear a story of a female SRU student that she had talked to a few times.  The young lady had heard the gospel while talking to Jen on campus.  She realized the evil in her homosexual relationship.  She repented and placed her trust in Jesus.  She started going to a good church during the summer.  She decided to go to a different college this year, so she would not be tempted by the LGBTQ culture at SRU.  We are so grateful to God.   Please pray for her.

The First week in August I spent in NYC.  We had 2 days of training for the Campus Leaders and then several days of outreach.  We did many interesting outreaches on the subways.  We had several sinners anonymous meetings.   One gentlemen comes into the subway car thanking everyone for coming to the meeting.  He asks for people to give their testimony and then when no one does he gives his own.  Then he pleads with people again to stand up and give their testimony.  After a third plea one of us stands up and gives our testimony.  Here is a picture of me giving my testimony of coming to Christ.  Then two others stand up and give their testimony.  As you can see by the young lady here everyone is listening and surprised.    In the one location we did this others had almost been arrested for preaching the gospel a few days earlier and we had the same guards tell the complainers to sit and be quiet so that they could see all that would happen.    A little creativity can go a long way for finding a way to share the gospel.  Many people heard the gospel.

The parks in NYC are a wonderful place to witness.  People go to the parks to interact with others.  We had many wonderful conversations.   These two had many questions and ended up talking to several Christians about Jesus.  Pray that God is changing their hearts.

Hundreds of people heard the gospel via open air evangelism in the parks.  God drew several large crowds to hear the gospel throughout the week.  Some crowds gather because of apologetics like here.

We gathered crowds using IQ tests and trivia as well.  Either way everyone heard a good gospel message.  What a wonderful week we had in NYC.

October Update

CCN members enjoyed the Biblical Relationships retreat this past weekend.  There were many wonderful teachings at the retreat.  All the students and Campus Leaders felt refreshed and challenged going back home.  We learned about conflict resolution, boundaries in friendships, dating with a purpose and dating your spouse when you are married.  Because we are CCN we went out witnessing each night after the retreat.  You can see many pictures of the retreat here.

This is a picture of a crowd that was gathered in Times Square.  Chiz (Our discipleship leader) was proclaiming the Gospel (in the black, on the right)

We also took one morning to go to the Margaret Sanger NYC Planned Parenthood murder mill. We were so happy that we were able to convince  one young lady to turn away from the clinic that morning.  We talked to her for about 30 minutes and then walked her down to the subway.  She was giving lots of information about where she could get other kinds of help.

At the clinic, we open air evangelized, handed out tracts, and spoke to the women to see if we could talk them out of murdering their babies. Another tool we used was chalk:  we wrote on the sidewalks leading up to the clinic.   We wrote messages like "A FETUS IS A BABY", "CHOOSE LOVE and CHOOSE LIFE", "DO NOT MURDER", "WHEN IS IT OK TO MURDER A BABY IN A MOTHERS WOMB? NEVER".  We did this so that when we are not at the clinic we still have a presence.

Campus leaders continue to build disciples on their campuses using great teachings and other methods.  Here is a picture of Andre teaching at MCCC.  He was teaching on how to get to the gospel when talking with unbelievers.  This is always an important lesson for all of us to learn.  We need to be friendly, use humor, ask questions and always carry gospel tracts with us.

We like to meet in public places so that other students will see us and want to join in the Bible Study.  Here is a picture of Nick teaching on the Bible in the cafeteria.

On the campuses we spend a good deal of time witnessing to students.  We even witness to students that say that the are Christians.  Often times the students that claim to be Christians have never really heard the good news of Jesus and are so grateful to finally understand.    Here is one of our Assistant Campus Leaders Aishah witnessing at LCC.

The students enjoy the fellowship each month with other Christian students.  We are all about teaching the Bible and witnessing but it is good to eat with each other and enjoy fellowship.  Here is a picture of students enjoying fellowship at CCNY.

Thank You so much for supporting CCN.  To God be the glory!
