Update August 2013

  • A Changed Life

Jen got a Call from a student at SRU.  She got to hear a story of a female SRU student that she had talked to a few times.  The young lady had heard the gospel while talking to Jen on campus.  She realized the evil in her homosexual relationship.  She repented and placed her trust in Jesus.  She started going to a good church during the summer.  She decided to go to a different college this year, so she would not be tempted by the LGBTQ culture at SRU.  We are so grateful to God.   Please pray for her.

The First week in August I spent in NYC.  We had 2 days of training for the Campus Leaders and then several days of outreach.  We did many interesting outreaches on the subways.  We had several sinners anonymous meetings.   One gentlemen comes into the subway car thanking everyone for coming to the meeting.  He asks for people to give their testimony and then when no one does he gives his own.  Then he pleads with people again to stand up and give their testimony.  After a third plea one of us stands up and gives our testimony.  Here is a picture of me giving my testimony of coming to Christ.  Then two others stand up and give their testimony.  As you can see by the young lady here everyone is listening and surprised.    In the one location we did this others had almost been arrested for preaching the gospel a few days earlier and we had the same guards tell the complainers to sit and be quiet so that they could see all that would happen.    A little creativity can go a long way for finding a way to share the gospel.  Many people heard the gospel.

The parks in NYC are a wonderful place to witness.  People go to the parks to interact with others.  We had many wonderful conversations.   These two had many questions and ended up talking to several Christians about Jesus.  Pray that God is changing their hearts.

Hundreds of people heard the gospel via open air evangelism in the parks.  God drew several large crowds to hear the gospel throughout the week.  Some crowds gather because of apologetics like here.

We gathered crowds using IQ tests and trivia as well.  Either way everyone heard a good gospel message.  What a wonderful week we had in NYC.

Update August 2013

August was full of God honoring ministry.   The Leadership Summit was successful, the Campus Leaders met the new Leadership of CCN.  We talked about the Vision of CCN: to evangelize the lost and disciple the found.  We are going to train up the next generation of soul winning leaders.  Every one of the Campus Leaders was greatly encouraged by the direction.  We made changes to the way CCN will be run.  Campus Leaders now have more control over what happens on their own campuses, and they are being provided additional support for the cost of tracts and other materials they regularly need on the Campuses.

Repent and Witness, which is 4 days and 4 nights of witnessing went great.  We handouted tracts and open air evangelize and witness 1 -2 -1.  We went to places like Union Square, Washington Square, Times Square and Central Park.  We preached in each location and we even preached on the subway system while going from 1 location to another.  Here is a picture of our Repent and Witness missionaries.

I enjoyed sharing the gospel with large crowds in Washington Square.

We had church outside on Sunday and we had some of out hecklers from Saturday join us for the service.  We has several people that open air preached this week as well.  We often use trivia and IQ tests to gather a crowd to share the gospel.

We preached at the Statton Island Fairy and thousands of people get to hear the gospel.

If you want to see more pictures go here.

CCN had a booth at the PineRichland Community Days.  It was cool that we were able to talk to people that we had talked to the year before.  Everyone who stopped by went through the gospel and got a teddy bear, a tract and a Bible (if they wanted one).  I got a letter from the township thanking us for participating in the event.  It is a great day when you can share the gospel and get asked to come back and do it next year.

CCN taught an Evangelism Crash Course in Philidelphia.  We meet the young lady that asked us to do it at an outreach.  She was so encouraged by our outreach that she contacted us to do a Crash Course.   The students learned so much and they went out and shared the gospel after the Crash Course.

Here is a testimony about the Crash Course from Amynah a Campus Leader:

"Last year, at an outreach in Philly, I handed a girl a gospel tract and proceeded to share the gospel with her, little did I know the girl was already saved. In fact, she was the leader of a youth group at her local church. A year later, the same girl went on the CCN website, which was located at the bottom of the tract I gave her and she requested to host a CCN Crash Course at her church for her youth group (which consists of mostly 13-15 year old). After five hours of evangelism training, we took the entire group out to a local area to share the gospel and it was amazing! The students instantly engaged into conversations with many different people and passed out many gospel tracts. A young boy even said he wanted to do it again next Saturday. It's amazing seeing the fruit that can come from one simple gospel tract a year later."

The following week CCN took a team down to the Planned Parenthood.  This was the first time down there for some and the second time for others.  Some of the team had does this for years.  We ended up driving a young lady home from downtown who was having issues.  We talked to many people before they went in.  We pray that some of those people that were going into make an appointment decided not to have an abortion.

The Fall Semester is about to begin.  Please Pray for all the Campus Leaders.

Thank You so much for your support.  The CCN Team would not be able to do all of these things without your support.
