Many of us are looking forward to the end of 2020. If we had been told two years ago that we would be wearing masks to protect one another from the unseen Coronavirus, most of us would have laughed out loud. Our lives have changed in ways I don’t think that we would have imagined with all of the closures of every kind across our country and the world. The toilet paper frenzy has caused many to hoard as much as they can leaving many without.

Many college campuses have been like a ghost town since the pandemic reared its ghastly head. Dreams have seemingly been dashed as this pandemic lingers and with it the uncertainty of what the future holds.

When talking with students that have stayed in town, you get an understanding of the fears that they are mulling over within their hearts and minds. Young people seem to feel desperate about the future.

The Bible holds answers for us that we can trust. God is not caught off guard by what is going on in our world. And though there is a lingering fear of what may come next we can not in any way control the future. However, the Bible is supremely relevant for today and for tomorrow.

I get the awesome privilege to share the gospel of the “Good News” with those filled with uncertainty. There is hope only in Jesus Christ who came to earth clothed as in human form and lived a life without breaking a single law that God gave. He then took upon himself all of the grotesque sins that have been or ever will be committed. He paid the price of an excruciating death on a cross (the word excruciate came from the word crucifixion) Why? Because God so loved the world that He gave his only son (to become a sacrifice for our sins. The debt had to be paid.) that whoever repents of their sins and believes in His work alone shall be saved.

This to shall pass! Coronavirus will be something that if we live long enough will inform future generations of what we lived through, but more importantly, the Word of God will remain forever. It is living, active, and trustworthy. In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word is Jesus.!!
