Why do I choose to believe the Bible?

Without first being converted, all “belief” in the Bible will inevitably turn out to be superficial when tested. However, once I was born again, as I studied the Bible more, I saw and discovered the numerous amounts of proof that made this collection of books truly axiomatic. I discovered that the Bible is not a book of fairy tales. It is not a novel with characters and a plot contrived by men to deceive the world. If we were to place the Bibles uniqueness in a creed, it would sound like this in my own words:

“The Bible has 66 separate books, written by 40 different authors (most of whom did not know each other), in three different languages, from three different continents over a 1,600 year time frame with zero contradictions. They are historically accurate, credible, verifiable, and archeologically reliable. The prophecies that were written therein could not be forcefully fulfilled seeing that most of what was written was written hundreds of year prior to their fulfillment, and some are still being fulfilled today. There are over 300+ explicit and implicit prophecies that point to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ before He was born and before crucifixion was even a known punishment. The Bible is not only historically valid, but scientifically accurate as well. Also, the truthful testimony concerning the fallen, sinful, and depraved nature of man is one that is not found in any other culture in the world in the same way it is depicted by scripture. The cure for such a condition in only found in the original and unique presentation of the gospel. The Bible has not only proven itself in continuity, and internal integrity, but has stood the test of time, tyrants, and external criticism. All attempts to stop, destroy, or prevent this book to be printed, preached, and promoted have utterly failed and were very counterproductive. The Bible was written by the hands of men, but not the spirit of men. The Bible is not only a book of transcendent mysteries and spiritual paradoxes, but also imminent certainties and timeless absolutes. It is unmatched in its philosophy, marked by its wisdom, and abundant in its knowledge. No matter what you do, no matter how you feel, no matter what you may say about this collection of ancient writings, if in the end, this book were a lie (which it won’t), it is still one heck of a book! Why? Because it was inspired by one heck of a God!”

“All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God…” -2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)

There are many reasons I can use to try and convince someone to believe the Bible, or arguments I could write as to why so-and-so should choose to do so. However, if someone does not know Jesus, the Bible will always be nothing more than just another religious book. It will have no reality, no relevance, and no real application. The Bible is a living word, because God is living. It is true in all that it’s says because God is true. But, if one is never converted from their sin, then none of that will ever be realized, ever! However, if you fail to believe what the Bible says, then you will never believe in Jesus to save you from your sin. So what do you do? Cry out to God and by asking Him to make you born again. Trust Him to save you from your sin if you understand that you are guilty before God and are deserving of Hell. He is rich in Mercy and will save those who are broken over their sin. Do it today, because in Hell, everyone believes the Bible.
